O maaaannnnnnn~ This post marks the end of the drama!! What am I going to look forward to my weekends now that this drama (and backstreet rookie) has ended?!?!? 😭😭

Look at their poster. The combination of themes and at the same time, so many things are going on in the poster (is it just me?). This already tells you (or me) how great it will be!
Before we dive into the deep contents and beautiful healing meanings, let's enjoy some funny moments~

Seo Yea-Ji, playing as Ko Moon-Young, just outright admiring Kim Soo-Hyun, playing as Moon Gang-Tae's body...gwooorrrllll me too, me too. Who doesn't love a body like his? 😍

THIS IS ONE HANDSOME MAN ❤😍❤😍❤😍❤😍❤

Sadly, this was the only scene with his hair up 😭💕

This scene is a legit iconic scene. What is even iconic is that this exact scene happens in the last episode with their roles reversed?? Talk about character development man.
OKAY!
First of all, the character development for ALL the characters (excluding the not-so-good-characters of course) makes me feel so proud as a viewer?!? You can actually tell that the character grew and matured so well from the beginning until the end. From the main characters to the patients and director of OK Hospital.

Jeong Jae-Kwang playing as Joo Jung-Tae is one of the first stories that is revealed in the drama. He fell in love with another patient, Ji Hye-Won playing as Lee A-Reum. As love is not allowed in the hospital as part of their rules, the kept their relationship pretty discreet (still got caught by the others in the end hahahaha). Anyways, unfortunate events took place and Jung-Tae was given the opportunity to run away with A-Reum. I did think he might not but I was 50/50 on it. SPOILER he didn't run away. As hard as it is for both him and A-Reum, he wanted to be a better person first (cure his alcoholism) to make sure that he is able to be fully resposible of A-Reum when they reunite. So proud of his actions because although he is a 'patient', he is far more responsible and mature than a lot more 'normal people' out there.

Another next memorable story would be the past of Joo In-Young playing as Yoo Sun-Hae. Her terrible childhood has unfortunately brought her to this stage she is in. One thing we can learn from her childhood is that, a bystander can actually hurt and destroy another person more than the actual bully themselves! Make sure to not stand aside and be quiet if you witness someone who needs help and you CAN help.

Here we have anooooottheeeerr bystanderrrr!...in a way...but his issue is waaaaaaaayyyy more than that. Lee Eol playing as Ko Dae-Hwan is Moon-Young fathers! They had a pretty bad family relationship and from the first episode until the final few, it seems like he hated Moon-Young for some reason? He was depicted as an evil father....he is to a certain extant because of the lack of attention he gives to his family and his daughter especially. Turns out he was actually afraid the daughter may turn out to be like his crazy 'dead' wife? Still...that really is NOT an excuse to kill her man...

This is the ONE AND ONLY time he ever spent it with his daughter and FOR HIS DAUGHTER over his lifetime. Worst thing is Moon-Young still remembers the story his told until today. A love of a parent can really make or break their children.
...my take is that, if you can't bear the responsibility (or do not want to be responsible) PLEASEEEEEE do not have them. Do not bring them into this wonderful world, only to destroy them. They did not do anything to deserve such terrible life...

Here is Kwak Dong-Yeon playing as Kwon Gi-Do (cameo) wit the stereotypical strict family we all know too well (appears in a lot of the K-drama) ~ Gi-Do developed a manic disorder and has an occasional habit of stripping BECAUSE of the lack of parental love and attention. in the drama, people may see Mun-Young as a trouble-maker because she helped Gi-Do escape from the hospital.

However, we can see that after the 'trouble and chaos' he had caused at his father (an assemblyman's) campaign event, although the issue at hand wasn't solve, he got his true feelings and burdens out of his chest. (SPOILER: He did eventually get better - Final EP).

A-Reum's backstory may not appear to be as serious and bad as the others but I would say she is also a key character in this drama. When her ex-abusive husband comes for her, that was the first time we saw Gang-Tae snapped and actually punched someone!?! 😱😱
Gang-Tae is a character that keeps everything to himself and seeing the girl he love was in danger (Moon-Young stepped into A-Reum and her ex-husbands quarrel), I guess the ring in the grenade in him got pulled off...💥 That was the beginning of a non-stop chaos in the drama hahahahhahaha

Here is the most normal, non-judgmental and professional doctor~~ Seo Joon playing as Kwon Min-Seok.
on the contrary...here is the most naive or judgemental (idk) doctor~~ Jang Gyu-Ri playing as Sun-Byeol...

...this women...*heavy sigh*...she is the representative of MAJORITY of the humans on earth. Constantly judging a person based on the smaaaaaaalllllll part (like 0.01%) of a person's life they saw...She got told off so many times, I was LMAO-ING.
Let's never judge and assume a person's character and personality based on the small aspect we know. AND do not say just anything based on that assumption carelessly because unless you know the full-story, better zip that mouth up! 🤐

SANG-TAEEEEEE MY PUREST CHILDDDDD!! 🥰🥰 The one with the most character development goes to...*drums roll* SANG-TAE!! Oh Jung-Se playing as Moon Sang-Tae is not only a life-saver but he is the most reliable older-brother anyone can ask for. If you lie, he will beat you up. If you don't look good with short hair, he will say exactly that. If you are on an attempt to kill his younger siblings, watch out because he will smack your head with a fairy tale book as thick as an encyclopedia~

Truth be told, that didn't just happened from the beginning. It was all thanks to the growth he had gone through to get to that stage of maturity. Although he had an autism spectrum disorder, he was still a human...in fact, he is more humane than any of us could be...
A few of the (many) moments which are memorable are:
1. When Sang-Tae saw Gang-Tae with a genuine smile and happy expression for the first time. This is in Episode 11. Imagine...all the smiles we saw on Gang-Tae seemed genuine and real but Sang-Tae knew it wasn't ALTHOUGH he had to study expressions to understand and differentiate them. This scene was so heartbreaking but happy at the same time. My heart aches man...Sang-Tae on the other hand was happy to see his brother being genuinely happy for the first time. Why a kind brother isn't he? 😢💖
2. When Gang-Tae let a bit of him loose and fights with Sang-Tae...like how you would see a kid fight...This may be childish to some but it was definitely needed...Side tracking for a second...Gang-Tae had to grow up and be an adult with responsibilities at such a young age, he never had the chance to 'grew up' properly...After their fight, Sang-Tae actually acted more like a ' real 형' because for the first time, Gang-Tae told Sang-Tae how he genuinely felt instead of just hiding it....Hold up...this next part made me cried...

Do you know what Sang-Tae did?
- He used the money he was saving up for a camping car to buy Gang-Tae a meal. He was so keen on not using the money he was saving previously but after that HE USED IT.
- Not only that, he gave Gang-Tae allowance!! Omg 😭💖 TALK ABOUT GROWTH!?!
- He also called Gang-Tae TO CHECK UP ON HIM LIKE HOW GANG-TAE always does!!!!
- He finally accepted Moon-Young as a younger sibling when he used to be so tide up with the fact he only can have Gang-Tae as his family.

These may seem so 'normal' to some but to these brothers, this is so much love and growth!!!!! (i think im overusing growth at this point sorry hahahahah)
3. Remember the first few episode when Sang-Tae would go out of control and start screaming and how Gang-Tae calmed him down? Instead of needed being saved, he was the one who saved a patient from OK Hospital. Kim Ki-Cheon playing as Kan Pil-Wong lost his control when he heard drilling that sounded similar to a war zone. Due to his guilt of the past, he started freaking out BUT Sang-Tae had saved him in the same exact manner as how Gang-Tae did for him in the beginning. This tells us that humans actually has the ability to copy the actions of others (in this case it was a good act).

Here is a few appreciation write-ups on a few of the characters. They may not be the main character but their role has actually created a huge impact in the main character's life...

First shout out goes to...Kim Mi-Kyung playing as Kang Soon-Deok. She is not only the mother to her own daughter, she is a mother to all of the characters in this drama. She always made sure the kids are fed and are well. Her motherly instinct is honestly too good to be real...Please do not misunderstand...I'm not saying there is no such individual in real life...I'm only speaking from the context of the drama okaaaaayyyyyyy??

O man...if this part didn't hit you hard enough...I'll hit you with the 'Murder of the Witch of the West' book (JUST KIDDING). She is SOOOO kind, loving, warm, and all the other positive adjectives. I look up to her personality so much. If I could possess some of her personalities, I would be so proud of myself...well...I know it can be trained but changing a habit is not easy. She is my aspiration from now on hehehehe 😬

A family doesn't have to only be related by blood...

Park Jin-Joo playing as Yoo Seung-Jae is a love and hate character to me. She is actually a very naive and kind girl who ends up getting 'used' by her boss. At the same time, her honesty and failure to read situation (and control her mouth 🤦♀️) could really make a situation worse hahahaha. Overall, she is a cute character (i mean she looks cute too but I was talking about her personality). I love the fact she was loyal because even though she was put through hell in her job, she ultimately still carries out her task with an amount of motivation that we rarely see in everyone.

Of course we can't leave out Gang-Tae's best friend, Kang Ki-Doong playing as Jo Jae-Soo!! He is so loyal!?! Not sure if it's because he is clingy or loyal...🤔🤔 HAHAHAHA jokes aside, he stood by Gang-Tae's side for so many years despite all the shits he has to deal with in the process such as moving around, being patient with Sang-Tae, having to understand Gang-Tae's complicated mind...
He maaaayyyyy be annoying at times but honestly, Gang-Tae probably wouldn't be able to get to where he was if it wasn't for him. He understood Gang-Tae's character and knows him inside out that Gang-Tae is not ready to open up his heart and he does not pushes it. This reminds me of me and my best friend when I was so immature and failed to understand why she did not open up to me when I was so transparent with her. Of course, I would like to think I am better now but am I really??....

KK..Kim Joo-Hun playing Lee Sang-In was not exactly in my to-like list in the beginning hahaha...(See how quick was I to judge someone.....haihhhh....😒💬)...He did seemed pretty selfish and money-minded (...he still is to a certain extend but who isn't lol...) but it was more prominent later when he showed how much he actually cared for Moon-Young EVENTHOUGH!!! he didn't know the full story behind her traumatic past. HE WASN'T QUICK TO JUDGE PEOPLE...WHATTTTT~

Y?N: HAVE WE FINALLY ARRIVED AT MOON-YOUNG AND GANG-TAE'S PART????
ME: ...Yes we have, my child...

If this is not the beginning of where all hell broke loose....
As I am writing this...I realised...I have nothing much to say about this duo...(Y/N: "WHAT??? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME")...No...I'm not...
Okay, to be reaaaaaaaaalll truthful we could learn more from the side characters than them hahaha.

Okkk...there IS a few things we can point out. When you want to achieve something...make sure you don't just say it and expect some prince charming or miracle to happen...🙄...TAKE ACTION AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! It is easier said than done (i am well aware of that bruh)...what I meant is to do an active effort to be closer to the goal. It doesn't have to be something HUGE, NO. Let's see Moon-Young's first conscious effort.

Cutting her hair was her first act as a sign she is trying to break free from her traumatic past. This is something we should all have in mind. To achieve any goal, take it slow and do not rush to it. Small steps may seem unnecessary but never underestimate the power of what a small change can bring. There is a malay saying that goes by 'Sedikit-sedikit, lama-lama jadi bukit', meaning bit by bit, over time, it will accumulate into a mountain. Might not translate directly to what my point is but basically these essential small actions/changes will bring you closer to your goals. In this case, Moon-Young always kept her hair long because her mother never allowed her to cut her hair but to break out of her tie with the mother, she cuts her hair. Although this did not completely break her free from the nightmare of her mother, but it made her a little braver to fight for her happiness and warmth she deserves but never received from her mother.

She also started following Gang-Tae's advice to do this ^^ (put her hands on the opposite shoulder, take a deep breath and count 1, 2, 3).
WHY? If it wasn't obvious enough, let me break it down to you girls/guys. She is trying to change her rash and violent behavior which actually helped her out A LOT in the scenes to come. She became more patient and calm when dealing with unexpected situations. She became an overall more calm person from a heavy and bad tempered character.

Ever heard of something called the butterfly effect? (...butterfly huh...how iconic lololol...🦋) It is when a small action will lead to a very huge difference in a long run. It works for both good and bad situation. This is pretty much self-explanatory.

Gang-Tae tells us to not keep everything to yourself. If you think that's a smart move, bruh, let me tell you it really isn't! I am no professional to tell you what to do but in my opinion, of course seeking out for the professional would be the best option or talk to your most trusted person (it could be either a friend or a family member). If not, in my opinion, writing it down in a diary or releasing the thoughts in any form does not seem like a bad choice also.

Gang-Tae's tendency to keep his concerns to himself as we can see never ended up well. Either he explodes from frustration at one point or the truth comes to light itself as it always does (which made things worse than it could be).

Unlike Moon-Young who is very straightforward about her thoughts, Gang-Tae is a very reserved person. He became much more happier when he learned to not be so restricted and harsh on himself...😢...in other words, he became more humane...

Funnily and ironically, both their roles and characteristics eventually were switched HAHAHAHA if you watched, you would know what I am talking about 😉

Kim Chang-Wan playing as Oh Ji-Wang may not be a perfect father but he was a great doctor. He has his own peculiar ways to break patients free of their problems but it is always proven with great end results. He also became a place where Gang-Tae could rely on and pour his heart and concerns out to.

Jang Young-Nam played Park Haeng-Ja so well. I have an iffy feeling with her from the beginning and DAMN MY GUTS SAW WHAT WAS COMING BEFORE I COULD!

Truly a psychotic b**** who works beside the husbands she loathes just to see him suffer???? Omg she crazyyyyyy!!!!!!!

AND also treats her daughter like she is some freaking non-human being and WANTS TO KILL HER now that Moon-Young isn't a 'perfect masterpiece' anymore??? YOOO BYEEE I'M SIGNING
🏃🏻♀️💨OUT~~

OKAY I REALLY HATED HER AT FIRST because she was so whiny on the fact her crush did not give her as much attention as she would like. Not only that, she compared herself to Moon-Young and questions herself worth when Gang-Tae was more attentive to Moon-Young rather than her. It didn't make sense to her because why would someone like a 'crazy women' more than her, ' a normal person'...right...?

But she came to understand the fact that not all plans are meant to happen. She also grew and matured when she came to term that she couldn't control Gang-Tae's love for Moon-Young because as cliche as it is, if it is meant to be, it will eventually happen but if it's not, no matter how much you push it, it just wont happen! Like for example, you can't pour water in a bucket with holes and expect it to be full?? Doesn't make sense right? Exactly my point hahaha.

SHOUT OUT TO MANG-TAE!! I WANT MY OWN MANG-TAE TOO 😭😭😭

A few screenshots of my favourite sayings in the drama:

This scene is when Moon-Young ask Sang-In to number people based on favorites. This is very much applicable to us because we tend to compare people with each other. We need to understand that everyone is born to be different and distinct personality and characters, it is very unfair to them if they are compared based on your own standards.
Appreciate everyone in their own special forms 💗

As hard as it is, try not to run away from your fears or hardships. Don't eve try to forget them because most of the time, it is impossible.
Remember them and overcome it 🧠 💪🏻

This opinion may not be accepted by everyone but this statement is a factual truth that all adults needs to take in. You may be older and have more life experience but you may not always be right. There will be times when you may need to accept advice from someone younger. Be open to opinions and have a mindset where you are willing to always learn.
Truth to be told, we may never finish learning everything before we die💀

As the title of the drama...
It's okay to not be okay 👌🏻
There will be times when things are good and vice versa. When we are faced with hardships, know that it will pass and you will be stronger after bracing through it.
I also love the concept this drama had...

Every episode has their own name, that is what I observed from the countless of Korean drama I have watched. I love how every episode is themed around a fairy tale and the lesson we learn from each episode relates to the fairy tale too!

I also love how Moon-Young's fairy tales are very reality based and from her own experiences as well. It is a very straight-at-your-face-attack kind of story which I think the society needs because some people are just too dumb or ignorant to get stories with hidden meanings...💢

🎪 FUN FACT 🎪
For those who may not be aware, Sang-Tae (Oh Jung-Se) actually went to an amusement park with a fan that also has a developmental disability (similar to the character Sang-Tae). He is a freaking angel 😭💓.

Behind all these fancy outfits, Moon-Young is actually using that as an exterior shield to cover her fear and insecurities?

Overall, this drama is a healing drama, especially the way it tackles mental health issues as well as personality and developmental disorders. It is also a very educational drama to educate more people about these sensitive issue that is not as freely and widely a discussed and accepted topic in South Korea.

This drama is highly recommended to those who are reading this and have yet to watch it. If you know people who are looking for a drama to watch, let them know about this drama~ It's Okay Not To Be Okay/Psycho But It's Okay (사이코지만 괜찮아).

All the cast were truly amazing. I cannot see anyone else playing their roles. I am referring to ALL casts in this drama. 💞
