Gami Chicken @ Pavilion, KL #PyeongKaMun

A few weeks back, me and my 베프 saw an IG story of our friends visiting this place and it honestly looked really good! So, we decided to try it out! We also missed the only halal fried chicken restaurant we visited in Korea and left us such deep impression because it was on the cheaper end BUT the portion was huge and it tasted so great that we went back there on our second last day in Korea.

The place isn't so hard to find...although we kinda got lost in the beginning hahahaha 😂😂. Make sure to look at the lot number of shop in the address and use that as a reference when you arrive at Pavilion!

The design on the wall was really eye catching! The design and colors are definitely unique!

The tagline(?) was creative too! 👏🏻

We arrived at around 11am and lmao we were the first customer hahahaha

ALRIGHT! THE MAIN FACTOR OF THIS POST! THE FOOD!!

Chicken is a must to order when you go to a chicken place right?!?🍗🍗

We ordered Half Boneless Chicken. They allowed us to choose 2 flavors, so we choose Original and Spicy. This dish was RM30.

It was a disappointment in my opinion. Not only was the portion wayyy too less for the price, the chicken had more skin/flour than there were meat... Taste wise is just decent average. We kind of had a feeling they re-fried the leftover chicken from the day before because it definitely did not taste fresh or new...For the spicy flavor, it was not really spicy. If you can't handle spicy food well, you could challenge yourself to order this flavor if you do pay a visit here! The sauce was also the most watery sauce we have ever encountered (in comparison to other places that serve korean fried chicken).

It wasn't only applied to the sauce on the chicken. The honey mustard and soy sauce given was on the more watery consistency as well. Those who fancy more watery consistency may find themselves enjoying this.

Radish and salad(?) was also provided on the house when you order anything. Water is also free!

We also ordered another dish called Potato Heaven which cost RM19. This was just pure disaster...

It was supposedly a signature potato dish, layers of creamy mashed potato, mozzarella cheese & wedges, topped with sour cream (the description is from their menu).

This dish PERSONALLY for me, was horrible. The sour cream tasted funky, we scraped it aside...The wedges were edible and tasted pretty average. The mash potato was average too. The mozzarella cheese was at the bottom of the mash potato...truthfully, can't taste it...and their sauce...was...just not acceptable to my taste buds. It was so sweet and had this taste that you know you will get sick of it after some time (which I did). I still couldn't figure out what sauce it was but we had a guess that it could be sweet chili. My reflex wanted to puke after having not even half of this dish...

💰 (Service charge is additionally charged) 💰

OVERALL 💔 it was a nightmare to me. I personally wouldn't go back to this place. I am too scared to even try their other dishes...However! This place may suit those who prefer their meals on the sweeter end. To those who have been to Korea and tasted actual Korean fried chicken, this place may be slightly below expectation.

This is a review based purely on my preference and it may not be the same for everyone! Do try this restaurant out on your own expenses and risk 😅 Do check out their website for the full menu!

Price: $$$ - Price is definitely on the higher end. Halal Korean food tend to be on the higher end in Malaysia.

Food: 1/5 - Chicken wise, it was too overpriced for the taste and portion. The potato dish is also way below average. Their side dish (반찬) was below average as well.

Atmosphere: 3/5 - The design and aesthetic of the restaurant was good. It was definitely a place that stands out. You might also be able to take an Instagram worth picture hahahaha
