Hi Hello Annyeong~
I'm back with another review hahahaha. FINALLY A DRAMA THAT DID NOT MAKE ANY TEARS COME OUT FROM MY EYES! Not that it's a bad thing but just after so many melodrama, it about time to watch a drama that will make me laugh and it did! 😂😂
(Kinda mainly decided to try this drama because of Park Hae-Jin hehehe 😋. Don't regret it tho)

For those who don't know, "Kkondae (꼰대)" is a Korean term to refer to someone who acts like a old school and traditional person, basically, someone who is close minded and always think they are right.
RATING: 9.5/10
(Finally not a 10? What??)
To be honest, there is nothing specifically I didn't like from this drama. This 0.5 I minus is because of a lot of hidden sad reality within this comedic piece (yes, I am whining like a kid 😤). Also, why 12 episodes?? GIMME 16 EPISODES!! Oh, I suddenly thought of a part I don't understand...
*SPOILER ALERT*
...why in the world is Namgoong Pyo so kind and forgave Koo Ja-Suk?? LIKE BRUH SHE WAS DAMN WICKED AND EVIL BUT YOU STILL OFFER HER TO COME BACK?? IN WHAT SANE MIND?? Will I ever be this kind in this life? 🤔

Okay, let's get to the main point. This drama started off slower on the comedy aspect (than what I expected). In the first episode itself, you can see Lee Man-Sik acts like a kkondae in the train but later on, I saw that he actually isn't as bad as I expected (in the 1st ep). However, when they saw Ga Yeol-Chan working under Man-Sik, I thought maybe I was wrong to think Man-Sik is not the typical kkondae. Of course, throughout the plot, they showed more about the reasons behind his actions.
I will discuss more about the moral values from this drama at the end, so stay tuned~ 😉

After all the crappy situation Yeol-Chan has been through under Man-Sik, the last think you would think is that he will end up acting like Man-Sik, kkondae, himself. JOKES ON YALL WHO HAD THAT THOUGHT HAHAHAHAHAH (ME INCLUDED) 🤡. When he started showing his kkondae side, bruh, I was like ??? but then a thought came to me. In life, it is really easy to stray away from your beliefs because of how easily blinded by power/greed/revenge/hatred/etc. I guess that is why people say to surround yourself with the right people because these are the people will help you get back in the right lane when you stray away from it. But well, how can we tell right? I would suggest reading more about these kind of topics or watch related videos to know how to tell them apart or be more informed about it. The best is still to learn from your experience ultimately.

Honestly, really wanted to punch his face in the first half of the drama HAHAHAHAHAHHA but I guess he was more humane than I thought. After the first half of the drama, Yeol-Chan showed more kkondae side than Man-Sik to be honest hahahahaha. It was great as well to see him reflecting on his mistake, from the restaurant owner's suicide attempt to his lacking personality of being close minded. It was touching to see him risking his life for Yeol-Chan in the final 2 episodes.
There is always something to learn from our lives. If you don't see it, it's either you know what it is BUT you are denying it deep down or maybe you really are blind...Times like this, it would be great if you could get a friend or sibling whom you meet often and ask them to point out something they think you can improve on.

Lee Tae-Ri is iconic. Can't love her more. She is not only so outspoken, but she also stands her ground on what is right and wrong. She isn't easily swayed or influenced by her surroundings. Her fighting and energy spirit is something I wish I have. She also hardly gives up when she meets challenges, instead, she motivates herself to do her best. Although, at times she is clueless and really blur hahahahaha. She is probably the character with the best personality to refer to 🤩

Tak Jung-Eun is a bit confusing for me. Technically she didn't do anything wrong but her character really puts up a strong wall to protect herself. That isn't her fault, when you get put in a position where you might lose your job anytime, the only way is to protect your job but being very competitive and wary of your work mates. She also didn't had it any easier throughout her years working under Jonsoo Food. I'm glad she didn't take the easier route and cheat her worth in the end by standing up for what is right (as well as for her love towards Joo Yoon-Soo hehehe 😘💖).

Okay, I just outright want to punch some sense into Namgoong Joon-Soo. He is the most childish person and may I say, dumb. All his actions goes down to childish. I'm not sure if it is because of the lack of education from the family, his surroundings or just generally a dude that has close to none common sense. He isn't evil per say but his is more like a child who must get what he wants, if not, he will do anything to get it? Ultimately, he isn't the main devil in this drama but his actions really need to be reflected. Lee Tae-Ri saved the day once again, because the amount of change he went through, I would say should be mainly credited to Tae-Ri. She is the only one who dares to insult and question his unjustifiable actions. With characters like this, I think they just lack guidance in life. With the right guidance, he has a lot of potential to be a whole better human.

(This is the best picture I could find for Oh Dong-Geun 😅 please forgive me)
He really is shit all the way except for the final episode. The one that triggered me the most is when he stole Man-Sik's ramen idea...bro...I despise people like him. Only on the final episode, he decided on how shitty of a human he is and decided to help Yeol-Chan out.
Also, whattt he is older than Yeol-Chan?? What a final touch to plot twist in this drama hahahahahaha

Okay, Kim Seung-Jin to me is a character to fill in the spots to make it look less empty (?). He doesn't influence much in the drama except for the ramen tasting episode (where everyone sat down and tested countless ramen made by Yeol-Chan lol). He isn't exactly to be blamed for getting this upset but can I really blame him for being upset?

Here we have our 3 interns ~
(Yeah...I couldn't find promotional shots for Yoon-Soo too 😅)
Joo Yoon-Soo is a character you see a lot in your everyday life. (If you don't see anyone like him...you may be the one...just kidding hahahaha). From his fear of speaking the truth when Man-Sik's ramen getting stolen and his idea getting stolen from his presentation mate, to his insecurities that lead to lack of friends. Yoon-Soo portrays a lot of characteristics that we may relate to. Especially when you have experience the worst. Yoon-Soo is the complete opposite of Tae-Ri. Instead of taking it positively, he gets upset and holds grudges. But he isn't brave enough to go crazy and blow up...Of course, you see how much he grows as a person as the story goes.
Also...I NEVER THOUGHT THAT LEE TAE-RI WOULD BE LEE MAN-SIK'S DAUGHTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was honestly so shock...is it just me that is so clueless about this hahahahaha but their relationship is cute hahahaha

Other than the office comedy, you might find a few moral values in this drama.
Never jump to conclusion before you are sure about everything.
You can never get away with dirty deeds.
Be more open minded to changes and opinions especially if it is about yourself.
I can't remember more as I am typing this post.
Be more like Lee Tae-Ri~
Jokes aside, you can reflect about a lot of things as you watch the drama. Every person may take off something different from this drama and that doesn't matter.
This drama shows a heavily conceptualized idea on the working culture in companies in South Korea. From the hierarchy to the corrupted executives and unfair treatment by the companies. I really hope this isn't the case in real life because I do dream of getting a job in Korea...😥
WAIT!! DON'T LEAVE ME YET!!
Their OST is also so good?!? Recently, I got into trot (more like the mister trot gang hahaha) and their OST is 5/6 from them! Do give it a listen if you are also a fan of trot because I really their OST. My personal favourite is Kkondae Latte by Yeong Tak and Fate In Time by Lee Chanwon!
If you got this far, please leave me a comment because I want to appreciate you and give you my heart for reading up till this point hahahaha 💖💖
See you soon!
