Pokok KL Cafe @ Mahsa University #PyeongKaMun

So, some might be wondering "what in the world does the hashtag means?". It is a combination of '평가' which means assessment in Korean (written form is Pyeong-Ka) and my name which is Ka Mun 😁. No hate comments about that is allowed here, thanks!

ONTO THE MAIN TOPIC!

Finally gave Pokok KL a visit! This is just a fun and short review about my experience at the cafe and the specific food/drinks I had during my visit.

This is the walk to the entrance. Just search up Mahsa University, Block B and it should take you into the University. Just find for Block B and you will immediately find the cafe. Just ask for help from the guards if you still can't find the cafe~

🌟 I found it so interesting that they have sprinklers on their roof!! 🌟

The ambiance in the cafe itself was great. I thought it would be on the warmer side but surprisingly the cafe was sooo cold hahahahaha 🥶

(In this RMCO period, only 2-4 pax are allowed from my observation during this trip)

❗❕❗❕ - The only way to order in this RMCO period is by scanning the QR code on the table you are seated at. You can select your food/drink/dessert, select the sub-options, and pay directly in the website/app (beepit). After payment, the order will be redirected to the cafe and they will deliver your order to you! - ❗❕❗❕

Our drinks were served in a plastic container! On your right is the Lemonade Pear Iced Tea (RM10) and on your left is Cold Long Black (RM10). The drinks tasted pretty interesting to say the least. The Iced Tea (that I took a sip from lmao) is on the sweeter side but I wouldn't say it is very sweet. The Cold Long Black was not what I anticipated hahahaha because it has this roasted taste that I have never tasted before elsewhere. Don't get me wrong! It IS good! It was just different for me.

❗❕ Cutleries are also served in plastic forms~ ❗❕

This is me forgetting how to pose for pictures and being embarrassed after so many months of being at home lmao....AND YES THAT IS THE QR CODE. I forgot to take a proper picture because I was too excited HAHAHAHA

This is the Signature Chili Padi Pesto (RM20)! You can choose the spice level which are Mild, Spicy and Extra Spicy (?I forgot the proper name but you get the gist?) and if you want additional chicken it is an extra charge of +RM5.

I am no expert in pesto but personally, I liked it. The herb taste is not as strong as other places I have tried before. The chicken was a liiiiiiiiiiiittleeeeee bit dry. Other than that, this is a recommended dish to try!

This is the Big Breakfast (RM35)! As you can see in the picture, it comes with mushrooms, scrambled egg/sunny side up, beef/chicken sausage, beef bacon/turkey ham, a toast, hash browns (cube size) and a side of salad.

For the price, this dish has a lot of variety of different food. Not a bad price because everything in this plate suited my taste palette hehehe 😋

Overall, this is a good cafe to pay a visit to. The pricing are quite the standard price for cafes in KL/PJ. The quality of the food was up to my expectations as well.

Price: $$$ - Typical price for cafes in KL/PJ area. They also charge for tax service.

Food: 4.5/5 - Both food tasted great in my opinion. The drinks were a little bit unexpected but there is no strong reason to not like it.

Atmosphere: 5/5 - I have yet to find a reason to dislike it. The glass windows makes it great for pictures because there is a great source of natural lighting from almost every direction (in the morning/afternoon). The food and settings are also very Instagram-worthy.
